BRUNEI’S first pharmaceutical manufacturing company is growing out of obscurity in the market for pharmaceuticals and is looking to expand its sales channels to boost its production, the company’s top official said yesterday.
In an interview with local media, Edward Ko, managing director of Simpor Pharma Sdn Bhd, said the company is working on increasing the company’s exposure by joining trade shows and using its current sales network to close the gap between the facility’s production capability and customer orders.
BRUNEI’S first pharmaceutical manufacturing company Simpor Pharma Sdn Bhd is currently selling some of their supplement and cosmetic ranges at several major supermarkets here, and will be opening a store in the Brunei International Airport mid-November.
Simpor Pharma, a $35 million joint-venture between Canadian firm Viva Pharmaceutical Inc (Viva), the Ministry of Finance and a group of local investors, is located in the Salambigar Industrial Site and began production in 2013.Read More

With an investment value of over US$26 million, it is the country’s first Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Halal-certified contract manufacturer of pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and cosmetic products.
